Things To Do In Nantucket: Restaurant Edition

I was recently told you’re either a Nantucket or Martha’s Vineyard girlie. I’ve never been to the vineyard, but several Nantucket restaurants have my heart. Despite being a small island, there are many different culinary choices to explore.

Lemon Press

Breakfast burrito from Lemon Press restaurant on Nantucket Island

When we arrived at Nantucket around brunch time, we needed a bite ASAP. From the airport, we went to the main ‘downtown’ area where most of the island’s offerings are located. We opted for something we’ve heard be mentioned a million times on TikTok – Lemon Press. I got the breakfast burrito and it was really good! (It could have used hot sauce, but I was so hungry I didn’t bother asking.)

Juice Bar

This place had a line at all times of the day and in any weather condition. I saw a queue outside Juice Bar at 8 p.m. one day and in the rain on another. Luckily, I hopped in line when there was a lull in the busyness. I will also think about this coffee cake ice cream cone endearingly.

Sister Ship

Sister Ship restaurant on Nantucket Island

Not pictured is a hibiscus Aperol spritz-type drink that I am obsessed with. It was so refreshing, not too strong, and had the perfect hibiscus flavor. I accompanied the drink with some lamb, saffron rice, and shishito peppers. Pretty tasty!

Island Kitchen

Goat cheese and spinach scramble with breakfast potatoes from Island Kitchen restaurant on Nantucket Island

Put goat cheese in anything and I’m there. At Island Kitchen, get the goat cheese with spinach scramble and a side of potatoes. You’ll be in a blissful food coma by midday. (No, seriously, I was dozing off during a museum tour after this.)

Gaslight

Birria ramen from Gaslight on Nantucket Island

Piece and love… but the birria ramen here was mid. I picked this in haste. The ramen was doing a lot (birria) but said nothing (flavor was light.)

The Beet

Bao buns and cucumber salad from The Beet on Nantucket Island

I don’t remember the name of the drink, but this passion fruit cocktail was magnificent. I wish I got more of the Korean braised beef bao buns. Next time I’m in Nantucket, I am asking for at least two orders of this.

Barlett Farms

Jerk chicken sandwich from Barlett Farm on Nantucket Island

This picture isn’t pretty, but the sandwich was solid. From the deli/cafe inside the grocery store, I got this jerk chicken sandwich and added bacon. My friend Kat P and I ate outside among chirping birds. It was peaceful.

GypSea Cafe

Breakfast spread from GypSea Cafe on Nantucket Island

Next to Children’s Beach and… many children is this cute restaurant cafe. As you can see, we ordered a full spread and ate every bit of it. The highlight was definitely the french toast. It was perfect.

Cisco Brewery

frosé from Cisco Brewery on Nantucket Island

You see the frost right? This frosé was found on Cisco Brewery’s grounds. No description is needed. Just delicious. 10/10 would recommend.

Overall, I hope to visit Nantucket again. The way of life there had some similarities to home. Particularly the storefronts with the handing signs outside, reminded me a lot of Anoka, MN. I’d love to see the island again during the shoulder season.
