The fact that I was able to squeeze into a small denim skirt from American Apparel is beyond me. And you know that thing was snug because American Apparel likes to do this thing where their a sizes are seemly smaller than standard.

Before our Senior year came to a close I wanted to have a photoshoot to commemorate our friendship and show the power of black excellence. Although this is not a full representation of the Senior black female population at Marquette University, it is a snippet of it. When I was coordinating and directing the photoshoot, I took my inspiration from Solange’s wedding picture. I just thought her group wedding images oozed black girl magic. I needed to get in on the action. So after weeks of wrangling participants, looking for shoot venues and finding a photographer the fruits of my labor finally came.

I want to coordinate more photoshoots in the future so I will be actively working on that. My professional goals always change, but I think this one will stick. Way back when I wanted to be a pediatrician. Ha! Now I just want to be doing something fashion related. A few years ago that meant being a designer, now I want to be a stylist/blogger/Art Director. Whatever 神様 has planned for me, I am ready to explore it.
