Its already month two of the new year. I wonder how many people stuck with their new years resolutions. It is said that people usually drop their resolution within the first four weeks. I am not one of those people. In fact, I did not make a resolution at all. I think the whole concept of “new year, new me” is a bunch of bologna. If someone really wanted to change, time shouldn’t and wouldn’t be a deciding factor on whether or not they’ll act on it.
Although I didn’t make a resolution for the new year, I did set a goal of going to the gym more. Not to lose weight, mainly just to tone up and be more fit. The first week of school I did not fulfill that goal at all. I constantly made excuses or blatantly told myself I did not want to go, but after a few failed attempts I finally went. Now it is easier for me to muster up to the mind-set of going to the gym. I want to make it a habit. When I don’t work out for several days in a row, I feel heavy and almost uncomfortable. Most of that is probably in my head than actual reality, but that is okay. Just that mentality alone will help me stay on track.
